Little Blue Piaggio Ape Direct from Italy to become The Frosted Flute Tap Truck

Bella’s History

The little blue Piaggio Ape. Direct from Italy. The interior of the cab retains the beautiful blue color as an homage to its former life.

The Frosted Flute was started by Katy Morgan, a serial entrepreneur and owner of KJ Designs Cookies. In 2020, she ordered a 1990 Piaggio Ape from Italy waiting 7 long months during the pandemic for it to make the journey across the pond. After months of loving restoration of the cab and the design and building of the tap box structure, the little truck named Dolores started rolling into events in 2022.

In 2024, former private chef Christi Flaherty and her husband, Kyle had been creating food and wine pairing events for twenty years. When Christi saw Katy’s Facebook post about selling the little tap truck, she jumped at the chance. Though she had never heard of Katy or the Frosted Flute, her intense love for all things Italian and the dream of owning a food truck business caused her to reach out. In one brief afternoon over coffee, Christi, Katy and Kyle recognized this was a match made in heaven for Dolores to go to a good home.
